You can request a paper based assessment, but they don't have to say yes.
Ringing them with the request is best, unless they accept email contact.

Hi @tracies1996, have you already submitted your claim?
You can ask for a paper based assessment and give the reasons why you might need one, but they may not always be able to offer it to you. It will depend whether they need further information for your claim or whether they've got enough from your forms and evidence.
Is there anyone who could be with you for your assessment if it happens on the phone?

Have you completed and submitted the form yet?
If not, include strong disability-related information as to why to require a paper-based assessment.
Perhaps your GP or anyone who supports you could write backing up your request. Include this with your form if possible or forward it on by post.
If you're still working on your form, write at length and in detail and you might find you've provided all the information they need for a paper only assessment. Include all relevant evidence and that includes old ("historic") evidence.
Good luck.

Hi @Rosie_Scope and @Zipz I have submitted my form 2 months ago and uploaded evidence. I messaged my doctor today as well asking if need be could he write a supporting letter . My son can only be here if not at work . I had a feeling was going to get a text today I haven’t slept at all. And prior to this lucky if get an hour . My ibs so bad as constantly being sick and just keep having panic attacks which makes me drink more . Not good I know 😩.

Hi @tracies1996
I'm so sorry things are so bad for you. Two months is not long. I recall submitting my forms on a sunny July day and not knowing until October that I would get a paper-based assessment. The assessment company wrote to my GP despite my including letters supporting a paper assessment.
You write quite graphically. Can you get what you have written here to the assessors either by post or online?

I've just sent my daughter pip review form back today., and asked for a paper based on as she wouldn't be able to cope. I had to fill the form for her as it freaked her out

Hi @Zipz I’ve sent loads of added notes etc with copies of my docs notes etc , I’m brutally honest and I’ve told them everything even though I hate saying certain things but I guess I have to just be an open book as I do struggle . So I made sure I told them . Can even see on my docs notes at times his frustration because I won’t attend for appointments and there’s been times when he’s wanted to do bloods etc or other checks but he knows I struggle to go as I could even have a telephone appointment and if having a bad day I just won’t answer . I hate being like this and I know they is a lot ppl that struggle also . Hugs to anyone going through tough times . @Andi66 bless your daughter yeh I’m like that . I literally spiral and get manic and when starts affecting sleep I get really unwell and other things like my ibs or drinking etc and not eating all tie in . In an ideal world I’d have a different brain and be such a calm person lol but I’m not . Hey ho ha . Hope your daughter Okies x
