Universal credit
I have just migrated my brother today to uc , I’m his appointee , carer ! On the form it said do u rent from family ! We do rent jointly from my sister in law. . I’ve submitted his claim. But since have read on line that u c might not pay rent if u rent from family . I uploaded up to date tenancy agreement ! But now I’m really worried ! Can anybody help on this matter please !

They'll need to be satisfied it's not a contrived tenancy.
People can and do get rent paid for renting from family.

can they not get that information from housing benefit ? We have been renting this house for last 4 years !

As advised UC need to check it isn't a contrived tenancy. They have their own rules and are separate to your local council who paid Housing Benefit.
Both won't pay if they feel it's a contrived tenancy.
It's standard practice for anyone private renting to provide tenancy documents.
