Son LCWRA
Hello all,
My son is disabled and receives UC. We have today received his decision saying he has been awarded LCWRA just based on the evidence alone and no assessment needed.
He gets paid on the 1st of every month, assessment period 26th-25th and the first fit note (a 6 month one so no gaps) was 10th September.
Please could you help me understand his first payment, I’m a little clueless (especially with how quick this decision was). Very grateful.
Thank you.

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to the UC payment. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
My estimate of his waiting period:
August/September: Partial Assessment Period not counted for waiting period
September/October: AP 1
October/November: AP 2
November/December: AP 3
December/January: Eligible for LCWRA element
1st February: First LCWRA element paid.
