Pip change in circumstances
so tomorrow I want to call up pip as my mobility part is worse than what my claim suggests, when it comes to familiar and unfamiliar journeys they said I can go to familiar journeys, which is wrong as I need support with familiar journeys as well as unfamiliar, so I just wondered what the process is like, is it just a phone call or do I also send a letter? How long can this take?

It would trigger a brand new claim. You will have to have another assessment whereby theres chance of getting a worst or better result than you have now.

Well it would show that I’m missing out on the extra support that I should be receiving from pip, I’m just scared about tribunal I did it before last year, and I’m supposed to be moving with my brother soon as he’s going to help support me and help me go out and go places more than my mum can currently do, i don’t want to end up back at step one again

Change of circumstances for pip will be treated like a brand new claim. You will have to fill out forms again, send evidence again and have an assessment again. Theres a chance you could lose your current award or get less points than you have now. It'll take months again.

You need to weigh up the options especially if you went through a tribunal last time to be awarded. You could put yourself through months of stress again and end up in a worst position you are now.

Yeah definitely, it’s just sad knowing I could be rewarded more but I don’t want be put in a position again when I’m struggling

nope and I’m supposed to be moving in with my brother next year as he’s going to help to support me, so it would have helped a lot to make life more liveable, do you know how the review goes?

Reviews are basically the same, you'll be sent forms to fill out again a few months before your award ends but the process is pretty much the same only difference is your paid till a decision is made.
Its always recommended when you receive your review forms that you treat it like a new claim and explain in detail how things affect you for that descriptor with real world examples. Don't just tick "no change".

ah so explain the same way I did in tribunal, I wish they did a online version as my writing is hard to read

You can always type it out on a computer and print it, but just make sure you put your name, date and NI number on each seperate piece of paper, and I would sign each paper. Ideally you want an A4 sheet for each descriptor explaining in detail what happened when you attempted the descriptor, what the consequences were, if you needed any aid to do the descriptor and if anyone witnessed you.
