Severe disabled benefit
Hello please help I'm so confused I was moved on to UC my esa is now paid as a new esa all off this I understand but UC have contacted me if I claim severe disablement benefit I must inform the office. I receive it from that I've moved to UC but this is the DWP who pays it why do I need to tell them when it's them who pay me ? Confused

Hi,
All the different benefits managed by DWP are managed by different teams, so they don't automatically know when you change to another benefit.
I don't quite understand the question here though. Severe Disablement Allowance was a very old benefit from before ESA.
I'm wondering whether you got the Severe Disability Premium with your ESA instead?
If you did get SDP then you should now have some Transitional Protection with your UC to top up the total.
