residential care on universal credit
Hi
I'm contnuing to have issues with my sister (learning disability) benefits. She lives in a residential care home and was assessed for the enhance rates of pip and now she is on UC has been awarded the LCWRA as well. She pays for her care out of her benefits approx 540 to the LA amonth. She no longer receives the care element of PIP. she still receives PIP mobility But after paying her rent the amount she seems to have more than Personal Expenses £30 + PIP mobility. She seems to get about £100 more than this a month. She does have very complex needs . Could it be that they have allowed her to keep some of the UC LCWRA money. I have read that she may be allowed to keep extra money to meet her Disability Related Needs. I really don't want to ask to be reassessed by the LA as her money has been a nightmare.. I have repeatedly told UC that she lives in residential care. (I also think she had more than £30 +PIP mobility when she was on ESA). I would really appreciate anyone who has had experience of this or who may been allowed to keep more of their UC LCWRA as it is for disabilty.
Thank you for reading.
