Children In Hospital

I can't help but get upset when I think about children suffering in hospital. I know I spent time in and out of hospitals as a child, but I know out there families are going through rigorous hardships because a boy or girl is enduring a lot of pain. It just shouldn't happen and as I write this tears are rolling down my face. It's weird because I'm not going through these experiences myself nor do I have children in my life, but it's like I feel the pain without the presence of it.
I know I probably need counselling or some more in-depth therapy, yet beyond children being in hospital I get emotional about joyful childhood things as well like teddy bears and stuff that is supposed to bring children joy.
