I saw this presenter and they were talking about this. She had a doctor who specialises in mental health saying there not enough doctors around to diagnosed people who are nureodiverse . She the presenter, talks the hind leg of a donkey , the guests can't get a word in. He was getting annoyed. As she was ranting about mental health how people can say they are depressed etc when there nothing wrong. Her partner left her, she not sitting around mopeing feeling sorry for herself. He said that depression and anxiety is different to what she was saying. And she says oh people say they feel like this and that .oh they must have adhd or autism.

So basically not going to work. She supposed to be a Christian like Stephen Timms. Funny way of showing it

IIts Been proved that there's waiting lists of 8 years and its not being widely diagnosed but they worked out within next 5 years thousands of woman in late 59s will be diagnosed that are on waiting list now they will just get a report back saying adhd autism can be treated with therapy and bobs your uncle I feel you might have more of a leg to stand on if your late 50s and had a life of undiagnosed adhd autism than a young person newly diagnosed as medical history for late diagnosed would mainly show a life of misdiagnosis some people bipolar some people personally disorders and cptsd which I didnt relize I have until read psychiatrist report so my medical history compared to young person so much more and I feel for young people as its hell and if trusted government to be fair and really work and help but I personally dont I feel will push people to despair

When I went my therapy the other day which some of you know was horrendous and im still suffering. She dropped into the conversation that she thoughtbI had ADHD.I most definitely dont.I know im not a medical professional but as mother to a son who has it and I think I may of mentioned before studied up on it for many years to be certain. When he continually got turned down for his diagnosis until eventually got a concrete diagnosis for both adhd and Autism. My point being that some of these people who think they have an understanding of what Adhd is really dont.I dont have any where near as much information or detail into Autism so couldn't possibly comment. It would take me as many years to study as it did that I have done with Adhd even though I'm living with my son who has it.As we all know it presents in different ways with different people

One of the problems is the media who know nothing about autism and adhd putting their input in. To them they don't look at the people who have these. All they see is welfare . Mental health has come to the fore front over the years, where as before . It wasn't spoken about and something to be embarrassed about. Prince William bringing mental health to the front which he supports, seem to clash with the government who sees everyone with mental health as scroungers. More people are on the waiting list because we haven't got enough doctors, to diagnosed them. When my daughter wasba school the primary school SEN teacher didn't believe in, adhd, autism. She wasn't diagnosed until 14. Cahms is not fit for purpose. With adult service once your diagnosed that's it. No help nothing. These people say oh they managed all this time. How do they know. I was 55. I struggled my whole life. I think for the government is that they put out these platitudes about caring.when we all know it's cutting welfare bill.

absolutely @Andi66 That's all they think about and that's always the motive.

I even occasionally see it on here like the blue badge thread people inadvertently judging who is and isn't worthy of something based on a 15 second assessment of their walking abilities.

    it's a worry for sure.

Personally I think it's just more known, I highly doubt there's anymore people it's just they've been diagnosed instead of left

I do feel unfortunately they'll claim adhd is mild or twist it into being so, I was diagnosed with adhd a whopping 23 years before the autism.

Even school teachers claimed I was just naughty, it's always been brushed aside.

They'll tread more carefully with autism because of it's Many complexities and the very real dangers of cornering someone with it.

I'm not violent ever, However; in extraordinary situations where I feel threatened , trapped and at risk I'll attack (furniture and myself rather than others, but that's not the point)

If you had been diagnosed by NHS or private psychologist they would have to adhere to it. It's some who say they have it without one due to waiting list that could decline. Knowing full well that the list could take years. So they would exclude you from pip

Catherine21 , please don't worry. They may not get anything through with the back benchers. Labour say things then back track
