New Years Resolutions

As we're closing the year, it's a time for reflection and an opportunity to think about small or big changes that we can make in the New Year to be generally happier and more fulfilled.

Has anyone been thinking about a New Years Resolution?

Mine will be a number of small changes. Just generally taking better care of myself. More exercise, better eating habits and trying to get out a little more to see family and friends.

A notepad that states "New Years Resolution" at the top. On a wooden desk with Christmas decorations around it.

Think mine will be similar to you @Holly_Scope! I'd like to work on my physical strength and stamina and try and make a better attempt at keeping in touch with people ☺️

Apart from trying to give myself more breathing space for everything that might occur, I am not one for New Years Resolutions, knowing I will feel it as pressure to be more of this or less of that. In other words: telling myself I should be other than I am… so no, I need all the kindness I can find in myself for myself if that makes sense.

That sounds like a good way forward @SmellyBin, it's great that you're making space to be whoever you need to be to get by ☺️

Ooooh 'to get by' sounds great, let's stick with that (unlike the need to shine, right?). No expectations, just trying to be gentle with ourselves and others, the world generally.

I only have one that I always stick to……..don't make any other New Year resolutions! 🙃

I feel the same this year @JessieJ! I never stick to them and they're always the same - eat better, exercise more. At the beginning of this year my friends and I made vision boards for the year with all the things we'd like to achieve/improve and it'll be fun to look back and see how we've done. I feel like I'd rather have a list of things that I can try to achieve rather than one resolution that I can easily fail at.

hi I’ve got to a stage in my life where I don’t make any New Year’s resolution. I just want to try and be more present in the moment, I wish everyone a very good new year when it comes 🎉

My new year resolutions and first time for it is to get back into cooking and baking more and doing cooked meals to help my other half and daughter more instead of them just caring for me, doing more exercising to build my strength up so I'm not struggling as much since I'm struggling to walk as I get older.

Your resolution really resonates with me @Annie015. I'm going to try and do the same.

My New Year Resolution is to hopefully still be around when its time to choose a new New Year's Resolution 2026 going into 2027. Fingers crossed!
