A short trip with my electric tricycle

Hello! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ 😊

Well I took my electric tricycle on her first trip, spending two nights in a hotel (I'm going back home today). I'm in a small seaside town called Rincon de la Victoria just outside of where I live (Malaga). I lived here for two years and often visit, so it's familiar territory. The reasons I'm doing this trip are:

*To practice travelling with my tricycle

*To practice packing for a hotel

*To gain confidence in my ability to get around in the world as a disabled person

*To disconnect from the city chaos

*To disconnect from my inner dialogue by disconnecting from my typical environment

*To connect with nature

*To spend time with my favourite cousin after leaving the hotel today

The trip has been a success on all counts so far. My emotions and thoughts have been all over the map, which is good because it means this trip is bringing thoughts and emotions to the surface. It's a tough pill to swallow to be newly physically disabled, and the easiest solution is to not move, because then I don't think and feel my disability. So it stares me in the face now, but in facing this new reality I hope to continue to adapt to this new reality.

The best part of the trip so far has been taking my tricycle along the sea and taking photos of the sea. I ache to put my feet in the sea, but it doesn't feel right yet. Even though I live by the sea, I haven't done that since before my feet gave out on me in March 2023, so probably since the summer before in 2022. Hopefully that will happen some time soon.

Here are some of my favourite pics....

    Hi @SmellyBin

Slow indeed. It clouded over yesterday evening, and now it looks more like British and Canadian weather! It's a real rollercoaster ride inside and out! I really feel more at home with this. Gawd I'm homesick!

Aww I absolutely love this @StarryEyed thanks so much for sharing. Some beautiful pictures too. I'm very envious of where you reside πŸ€— How warm is it there at the moment?

That looks beautiful @StarryEyed. It's brilliant how you're in touch with all the feelings and emotions that your trip has brought up. I hope it's helped you with all that you wanted to achieve ☺️

Here are some pics of surfers (look closely) embracing the darkness and dangerous waves. I love the symbolism of this.

@Holly_Scope It's about mid-teens these days. I'm glad you like the pics. And I'm envious of the majority of the population in the world because they live in their culture where they understand what's going on and so they connect to their environment. I'm so lost and unglued here! But, yes, there is beautiful eye candy here. I'm aiming for a deeper connection. Hoping and trying.

@Rosie_Scope I've still got a whole lot to learn, but, yes, this was a really productive trip. It was well worth the time and effort. It's nice to have goals. Thank you for your encouragement β˜ΊοΈπŸ™πŸΌ

@Rosie_Scope thank you. Cloudy skies are one of my favourite things in the whole wide world. They are indeed so dramatic. Mother Nature is by far my favourite artist. And She is everywhere. 😊

Hi @Mary_Scope and thank you. Yes, I imagine the waters are brutally cold right now even with their wetsuits. Very admirable indeed! I've always been a scaredy cat with my body, meaning very cautious. I love watching YouTube videos where people do wild things with their bodies. Here's a great one I just saw...

I understand what you mean @StarryEyed! I like watching Parkour videos like this Late for work - Parkour Run, i find it amazing how people can move their bodies like that and are just so brave!!

What a cool video @Mary_Scope! Thank you. I've always enjoyed watching others move in fantastic ways, living vicariously through them. Have you?
