Jobless at 31 and scared of what to do
I'm 31 years old, never worked but tried so hard to find jobs over the years. Am shy, partially deaf with tinnitus scared that I will never work and am on universal credit. I barely get interviews and when I speak about it to family, told to just put up with it

Have you spoken to RNID?
Do you have a work coach at the Job Centre?
Even if you're on LCWRA help is available

Hi @Daniel31
I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time job hunting. It feels demoralising and I understand.
Scope have a Support to Work programme which might be worth exploring. I've included the link here.

Hi @Daniel31, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you've struggled to find work. It's never to late to start, so I hope some of the links other members have posted above are helpful to you.
It doesn't sound like your family are being very supportive, and that's not easy either. It can be really tough facing rejection all the time. Applying for jobs can get so exhausting after a while.
As well as the employment support that Sara posted about, there's a few disability friendly employers here on our website:
Have you got any ideas about what kind of jobs you'd like to do? I hope you can find some support to get working soon ☺️
