Hi @qesar, I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with how the minimum income floor interacts with carers element with regards to transitional protection, but I hope one of our members has been through something similar and can offer some advice soon.

If not, you may wish to speak to a benefits advisor for some professional advice as they'll be able to look at the details of your whole claim. Turn2Us have a local advice finder here if that's useful to you: https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Sorry that I can't be of more help, I hope you get some clarity on it soon.

I would have thought that once you were awarded the Carer Element of UC your Transitional Protection would have been reduced by the same amount. If you are in receipt of the Carers Element you should exempt from the Minimum Income Floor. However I would suggest you check this with a benefits adviser.

    Thanks Lauren29

Yes they already reduce my transnational protection 201 because I am getting carers element but somehow they still using MIF for my uc and my income is then MIF so I want know when I tell them to remove MIF I will get more money in my uc will that extra money I will reduce my transnational protection pound to pound then
