If You need and use aids to help with your conditions for example, a Rollator given by physiotherapist, incontinence underwear, grab rails for shower, etc Do they consider each aid for whatever category they apply to and you gain points or would it just be one aid considered overall. My friend Jess uses the above and more and has done for at least 15 years. Her review is due in Dec but she can't rem what was said in her last pip award letter as it was put into her loft of her new house and she can't access it. She has had numerous falls too,in past ,broken bones, lately cuts bruising etc to face and knees.

Any help or comments I shall forward to her.

Oh and she needs her older sister to help her bathe on the days her incontinence is bad and she can't get into her bath to shower (shower over a bath)as she feels terrible fatigue due to bouts of diarrhoea, her sister helps her in and out onto a shower stool and holds her to shower her. This is 4days per week.

I'm not sure how to advise her. Something else i just remember her asking, do pip as a matter of form ask your GP for medical notes or only if you haven't supplied enough with your pip review form.

Tia.

    Hi,

One aid can be used in multiple different questions. Though multiple aids for the same question won't score any extra points. If the descriptor is '2 points for using an aid' then that will remain as 2 points no matter how many aids they use for that task.

GP's are rarely contacted for PIP, they mostly go on the assessments and any evidence provided by the claimant.

Needing assistance to get in and out of the bath is 3 points. Being unable to wash any part of their body themselves would be 8 points but I'm not sure they quite fit that description from the information provided.

Thank you @OverlyAnxious That's helpful. She also needs help to undress and re dress after episodes of incontinence due to her extreme Ibs as shes exhausted. Can't bend to get socks or shoes on either as the ibs causes stomach pain and dizziness. Your comment is very informative.
