Housing
Hi there I am 31 with 2 boys.
basically to cut a long story.
I have kids 1 who has austim and 1 who is currently going threw hospital appointments for hip and knee problems.
I moved back in with my mum after marriage breakdown between my parents to help support theyve since reconnected. my oldest son was having a really tuff time at school which resulted in him being moved to his new school he has settled in great my youngest has since started there to and he is thriving they are a great support for him and since being dignosed with austim they have stepped in massively helping with both kids.
I applied for housing here to continue to keep them at the school and have the family support I do, the issuse is the council have said I am not priorty for housing and facing a 15 year wait, my parents home is overcrowded me and my youngest are sharing a room while my other son sleeps in the livingroom I have handed in medical letters school letters supporting letter as to why I can't expand my areas they have said that I could add more areas with a better chance to be housed I stated that wasn't possible again evidence provided, my problem isn't that I haven't been housed instantly but more so I am now 2 years in and still no movement I have provided amounts of evidence the impact this is having with both children in there welfare and school also stepped in saying this was effecting them in education, fast forward I went to complaint stage 1 and 2 with both being closed we are now at spso. The council basically said I didn't meet criteria to go to special panel to decide if I was entitled to priorty banding I am not on my parents agreement nor do I have any entitlement to there property.
I get there is housing pressure and someone somewhere is absolutely worse off than myself I am not looking for a pitty party but just help I feel I am at my witts end with this all.
I have looked at private lets out with my financial situation applied to other housing associations within in the area
HaHas Anyone been threw similar or does anyone have any advice
