UC and transitional protection
I migrated to UC from ESA Wrag just under a year ago. I'm single and also in receipt of PIP.
I recieve the standard allowance of £400. Housing of £663. LCW (pre 2017 rate ) of £158. Plus transitional protection of £503.
I have a part time job of 7.5 hours, which is £409.50 a month and within the work allowance.
I just read that if I were to lose my job or leave my job - even though it is very few hours - I would lose my transitional protection. Is that correct? It seems incredibly unfair if so. Esp as I have ill health and may not be able to cope if my job role changes in the future and I had to leave. Or if I was made redundant etc…
Also if I left my job and became a (uni) student but still had LCW would I then also lose transitional protection.
I find it all quite confusing. I thought TP just eroded over time.

Turn2us has a great guide to TP.

Thanks 😊
From this as far as I can tell I'm ok, as I was below the AET when I transferred across to UC.
