Applied in October but not been assessed, will I qualify for full rate?
I am in receipt of universal credit, I applied for LWRCA on 15th October 2025 . I’ve completed the paperwork in dec 2025 but still not received a date for an assessment yet ? I’ve contacted my work coach and the SERCO assesment service and neither was able to tell me ,if I don’t get assessed before the April 6th deadline when new claimants will get just half the amount existing claimants are paid atm , will I still qualify for the “ full “ payment as my claim started from 15/10/2025 or will it be the reduced rate ?

Hi,
As you started the health journey before April 6th, you should still be entitled to the higher rate of LCWRA.
Make sure to keep sending fit notes without any date gaps until you get the assessment.

thank you ! They are really unhelpful… might not have helped that I asked if they were deliberately delaying the process ..

Hi @Dinasaur1 and a warm welcome to the community from me!
I see OverlyAnxious has already answered your question and given you some good information so I won't add anything else today but it's lovely to have you here and i hope you enjoy your time on the community😊0 -
Just to add that providing Fit Notes without gaps refers to when UC receive them, not the start date written on them.
