UC Housing element question.

Hi - I am not an expert on UC and housing element and would like to get help through here if possible.

I am in a tricky joint tenancy at the moment and the landlord is trying to find a solution to us ending the tenancy and I am not sure this is one.

The tenancy is for a 2 bed flat in Manchester, we both pay £510 each.

I have asked to see if it is possible for the tenancy is to end and I take over the flat as sole tenant on a reduced rate rent. I have requested this to be £800-£850. As I receive UC and PIP (high daily diving, low mobility), would UC accept paying the max rent of £750 and me putting £50/£100 to it, as there is two bedrooms and I have a disability?

Thanks.

The maximum UC will pay is the LHA rate for the area.

Unless you need regular overnight care from a non resident carer, your maximum LHA entitlement will be at the one bedroom rate.

Hi - Thanks for the reply. I probably need to restructure what I said!

It would be a for a two bed property, but if the maximum LHA for a 1 bed in Manchester, would I be able to claim all of that on the two bed?

    Thanks.

You'd be paid the maximum one bed rate for your area.
