Hi all, I'm new to this. I've been on UC LCWRA component since the start of lockdowns. Just heard about the April 2026 changes and I'm panicking about it for a possible future reassessment although this would be my very first assessment. I'm on ADP (Scottish equivalent to PIP). Im on the Autistic spectrum. I'm unsure if this will greatly affect me and disregard that disability as nothing. Also have anxiety and depression.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi @AverageJoe, we have some information about the changes which may be useful. I don't think the changes would affect how they view your condition, it's mainly to do with the amount that is paid. Have you read something that's made you particularly worried?

Just worried about if they get everyone a face to face (re) assessment and get everyone into a job. But some people are saying how's it possible when there's cut backs in jobs and voluntary jobs could be taken up depending. The spring budget is on the 3rd of March 2026. Next Tuesday. Just wondering how all this will pan out. I'm 29 currently coming up for 30 this year. But there's stats suggesting the 16 - 24 years are 5.2% (this is official they say but could be much higher in reality).

I live in Glasgow, Clydebank area, I know that face to face assessments for here is in Glasgow area. Also I seen the backlog could take years, that is depending if they don't streamline or increase more accesors. I seen this on Reddit as there is a few people who work for the DWP and one of them said that's a possibility if they streamline or recruit more accesors to speed up with the backlogs. But as I said this upcoming budget, companies maybe be hit and tightening up. Don't know whether they will target everyone on LCWRA first or start with the 16 - 24 age bracket.
