PIP MR phone call - is this normal?
Hi, I hope this is allowed. I’m currently waiting on the decision of my MR after originally applying for Ulcerative colitis, PCOS, Mental Health, Osteopenia, and back and leg pain.
I received a call out of the blue last Tuesday and she said she was a decision maker and needed to speak to me about my PIP claim. She asked me to confirm the name of the bank I bank with and then asked if anything new had changed and I said I had been put on Omeprazole for my hiatus hernia which I found out and notified them as soon as I knew and I’m now experiencing numbness in my hands.
She finally asked if I had anymore time off work and if any adjustments had been made for me. I replied I was told anymore time off from work and it could result in disciplinary action and we all worked from home.
I did ring on Thursday last week and they said a decision had been made on Tuesday and to expect a letter to confirm the decision but they were unable to tell me if I was awarded or not. They did ask me to confirm the last four digits of my bank account number.
I’m just wondering if these calls are normal during a MR as I applied a few years ago and never received one and If it sounds positive.
I rang the automated line yesterday and it then asked me if I was receiving any other benefits which has just completely thrown me now!

In my experience these calls aren't a normal part of the MR. It sounds as if the Decision Maker is concerned that the original PIP decision was incorrect and were calling to check some information with you.

You could try the online proof of benefit service to see if any award for PIP is showing

Thank you for this!
I did try the online proof of benefits but they couldn’t find anything for me so I am thinking I’ve been unsuccessful. Thank you again for both your comments!
