Hi, my name is barrygeater!
hi im after advice please.I have a mobility car which broke down approx14 th feb.I havd to wait to get it picked up as RAC could not fix it,and was advised it needed lifting equipment onto a carrier as its a steering issue, and an automatic plus everytrhing had shut down. The RAC mobility gave me 5 different times over 3 days that it would be retrieved, all of which they failed to show up,the last straw came 2 days later when they phoned me at 11pm at night to say they were on their way to get my vehicle, and they would not take it to storage but put it outside my house,as it was listed as a safe address by myself also because they had no room in storage.I agreed only to be phoned back by the company they had contracted locally, saying they cant move it as it needed lifting onto a recovery wagon and they had not been told it needed something called an A track or similar, all of which had previously beeen advised to them 5 days earlier. My fustration by this point was off the scale as all along they had informed me i had to meet them where the car had broken down to give them the keys, which they had given me 5 different times for.I had also been advised there was no certeousy car available for me for up to 7 days aswell so each time i would have had to meet them i would have had to walk or get taxi.Roll on days later it was finnally picked up and put ouside mine,3 days later i got my hire car, maybe things were looking up.!!! I spoke to soon…i had booked the earliest spot with the KIA dealership which is the 4 th march, and was told to phone the RAC motorbility back to book the A track lifting recovery vehicle to my house in time for them to take it to the dealership on the 4th,which i booked on the 25 or 26 th feb and was told it was all sorted they would pick it up and drop it to the dealership. On the 2nd they were meant to show up,was given 3 times all of which passed, without showing up,and without any updates from them phoning me,i would be none the wiser if i had not phoned them myself for update.Someone did actually phone me up at 825pm on the 2nd to say it was to late to get it to the dealership, they would be here toady (3rd march)between 7 and 12pm,again fast forward to today and NO SHOW. Someone from the RAC motorbility phoned me and advised me they would be here by 1250pm,so i said ok……OMG I get a call from the contractor saying they cannot collect my car because it needes an A track lifting unit and they were not told this…..I am beyond livid as RAC motorbility have known this and were made aware of this all through the process of what has become a nightmare…My allocated date for the car to be fixed is tommorrow,i have waited near 3 weeks and now im looking as if my slot will be missed,im furious at the incompancy of RAC motorbility and am at the point of saying just take the car back i dont want it,its only done 6k miles and is new,and basically is knackered .The RAC mechanic says these cars are a headache and they are fixing only 10 perc of new cars at roadsides, which i can believe seeing how mine had shut down, what can i do,am i within my rights to send it backand say enough is enough…thankyou
