Hi, my name is Louis123! Lump sum call
Hello everyone.
I am currently applying for PIP as I have ASD, tourettes and CPTSD.
I had a call on the 16th, late in the afternoon from DWP asking if i could manage a lump sum. Since then i have seen and heard nothing.
Ive read lots of horror storys on facebook of people getting this call and then no award.
Im very concerned. I attempted suicide 6 weeks ago, so im not very good at coping with this.
Can anyone help with what this call means?

Hi,
Sorry but this call doesn't mean anything at all. It is just part of the standard procedure.
All you can do is keep waiting for the letter to come through, or phone up and ask for the assessment report to see how many points were recommended by the assessor.

Is that genuine though? I spoke to someone the other day that told me it is not a standard call and is only done for people with vulnerability markers. I am seeing and hearing so many different things, its making me feel unwell.

All I can say is that it happens to many claimants. I can't say it happens to every single one, but I also don't believe it's only those with vulnerability markers due to the number I've seen. My advice would be to stop looking for what it means, because the answer really is 'nothing'. Some people get awarded after that call, others don't.
