Unfortunately they take a LONG time, the DWP hates giving out money, although in most cases it's their fault we have to go to an MR in t' first place.

Sorry to hear you have been waiting so long for a decision on your sons claim.
Waiting times seem to vary so much but you could ring them for an update.
None of us can on advise on whether you will be awarded.
It really depends what the doctor wrote in the letter to have any impact on the decision.
They may chose to dismiss it because they state on the forms not to send them doctors letters.
Its more about what you wrote on the form how your sons disability affects him and whether you can prove that he meets the criteria to be granted an award.

Hi @jmummy123. Sorry you've been waiting so long. As others have said, we're not able to say whether you'll be awarded aas every case is different. I'd call them for an update as it is a very long time to wait. Have you contacted them since you put in the mandatory reconsideration?

yes I have rang them and they have said it’s still not with a decision maker from beginning of December the MR got received they said they can not give me a time scale

Sorry to hear that, its so frustrating.
If its not yet with a decision maker I assume its still with the assessment company and it may have gone to audit.
If you haven't already done so you could ring them and ask what the delay is.

Just to clarify, when was the MR submitted?

Ah I see, I thought it had been over a year. The wait time for a MR can be up to 20 weeks. Hopefully it's not that long though.
