Who makes you laugh?

It's the Glasgow International Comedy Festival this month and it got me thinking about comedy. I absolutely love Bob Mortimer. I love watching his appearances on Would I Like To You? as he drives David Mitchell mad!

Who are your favourite comedians? Or what are your favourite shows that always make you laugh?

Favourite comedians? I have a few such as…

    John Cleese

    The Krankies

    Cannon and Ball

    Little and Large

    Brendan "Mrs Brown" O'Carroll

The main one I don't find remotely funny is that overrated fat guy Roy "Chubby" Brown, seriously nobody over the age of 5 finds gratuitous swearing funny.

Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie to You? is always a hoot @Rachel_Scope I love Lee Mack's quick-wittedness too. How he improvises based on the most ludicrous prompts is amazing.

My favourite stand up comedian is probably George Carlin. Young ones I love to watch: Josh Johnson, Larry Dean

I'm looking forward to the new series of Taskmaster.

I adore Taskmaster @MissMarple! Do you have a favourite series or contestant? My favourite series by a long way is Series 19 with Matthew Baynton and Stevie Martin. They were such a good group together.

It's hard to choose one @Rachel_Scope I agree that Series 19 was outstanding. Jason Mantzoukas was unhinged 😂 I loved Series 7 and 16 too. Such great team chemistry between the contestants!

Jason Mantzoukas was amazing! I loved him being in a team with Stevie. From that series I started listening to Chris and Rosie Ramseys podcast which is quite funny.

I really like On The Buses, Amberpearl, it was back when the world wasn't health & safety and pc mad. There was a spin off show called Don't Drink The Water with Blakey as the main character, I've only seen one episode of this show so far (it was a bonus episode on my On The Buses DVD box set) and it was pretty good.

    @Ross1975

It's funny we go on about PC mad and stuff (which we are, no doubt) but one of my favourite comedies - The Two Ronnies - often mocked what they thought was PC going mad back in the 1970s!

The Ministry of Sex Equality where he came on dressed half as a man and half as a woman

The Ministry of Pollution where citizens from certain towns were only going to be allowed to breathe on certain days of the week

    etc 😆

66Mustang, The Two Ronnies is another comedy I like, I do like a lot of the old comedies, like Russ Abbot, Seinfeld, Married With Children, The Munsters, Keeping Up Appearances, Bottom, The Brittas Empire, The New Statesman, etc.

Yeah OTB was hilarious, a bit un-PC though, plus all the original cast's now dead seeing as Anna Karen died in May 2024.
