NoBack dated payment

in November 2025 I applied for pip after being on DLA I received a letter yesterday from Pip that I have been successful in getting PIP and my DLA will stop but they have only started my PIP from 22nd of April 2026 and first payment will go in on 17th of May 2026, but there is no mention of backdated pay when I initially applied which was November 2025 is this because I was still on DLA while my PIP application was being processed

Yes, that sounds right. You should have continued getting DLA payments until the PIP assessment result.
