Scope Open Letter: people with disabilities are controlled, not included

To members and all staff concerned,

Please find attached my very honest piece that I wrote under my guest position at the Canary based on my experience as an elected assembly member. I know this view is shared amongst other assembly members and I stand with them all in solidarity. It's bitterly disappointing that we have reached this point and I hope things will improve for all involved and any members currently in receipt of Scope's services, support and communications who may be experiencing issues.

I will keep fighting for better so real progress and development can be made.

Don't get me started mate, I've been rejected 4 times for employment purely because I happened to declare my disability, and it's only mid afternoon on Wednesday.

Everyone says "We are a disability confident/equal opportunities" employer, but they don't mean it, it's a voluntary part of the Equality Act 2010.
