Hi my name is Denise and I am 62 years old and need help and advice with my DWP Mandatory Reconsideration. I have put in all my evidence to support my claim but they are now saying I need to fill in a new questionnaire as I have put in a new sick note. My argument is that my previous sick note had not ran out when my capability to work assessment did not go in my favour. I am now awaiting my Mandatory Reconsideration outcome. I just cannot cope and feel very over whelmed. My issues are mental health, depression, anxieties, and serious panic attacks and physical disabilities due to having arthritis in both my knees, both hips and lower back which effects my mobility on a daily basis. I just cannot cope at this present time with filling out another form and go through the process again while my first case is still not on going. I am under my Gp and community mental health team, also my local physio services. To access my local CAB services would require me to stand in long ques on a first serve basis to be seen and people start gathering at 6.am, in the morning on the days they provide a service. I just cannot stand for long periods of time, where else can I get local legal advice about my case and rights?

Hi @denisegreen1live, that all sounds like a lot to deal with. Sorry to hear you've been facing this while going through so much with your conditions, that can't be easy at all.

You could try having a look at whether there are any more welfare advice services in your area. Turn2us have an advice finder tool here to search for local help: https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Hopefully there's something nearby that would be more accessible to you than CAB.

If you'd like some advice over the phone, the people on the Scope Helpline are lovely. You can find the details on our website: https://www.scope.org.uk/helpline

They can often answer questions or point you in the direction of any other services that might be able to help. They're also available by email if you're not able to make phone calls.

I hope you can get things sorted soon and without too much more stress.

Unfortunately a WCA decision overrides an existing Fit Note, even one with time left on it.

And the DWP are well known for finding people who clearly aren't, fit to work!
