Moved to UC without migration letter and on contribution ESA
Hi, hoping someone can advise it looks like I have been moved to UC without a migration letter or any notice at all.
I was receiving a small amount of income ESA alongside contribution ESA I was in the support group, the income side was moved over to UC July last year as a couples claim and I continued receiving contribution based ESA.
This month, we received a much larger UC payment without an explanation and where it showed what ESA I receive it was less than a weeks ESA. I thought as I was only receiving contribution ESA I would not be migrated fully on to UC ?
Also, if I have been moved/migrated will I be protected from receiving a lower amount.

Hi,
This is just an error. It's happened to many people this month. The UC system has not calculated the ESA deduction correctly.
For the first few people this happened to, we were advising to contact UC asap. However, I now believe they'll correct the system as a whole without each claimant having to contact them individually. So it is your choice whether to contact them or whether to wait and see if they correct it. You will have to repay the overpayment once they've fixed the system and updated your statements.

Thank you, I messaged them as soon as it happened and will pay it back.
