Hi, my name is fox1958! Told I can't store my equipment, what can I do?

Hello every one first timer I have a problem i need help with Sevan years ago i moved into a council flat i had a lot of disability equiptment wheel chair walking fram etc i am high risk of falls i explained this to the person showing me round my flat , i was given a key to a small cubboard facing my flat so i could store these items ,it has never been a problem it is not a communial area i keep it locked my manager now txt me late last night i informed me that i need to empty this cubboard i am so worried i have no were to store items any advice please thank you .

    That sounds stressful! Sorry to hear this has got you feeling so worried. Did they explain why you suddenly need to clear it out after so long with no issues? Do you still use the equipment from the cupboard regularly?

    This may be due to fire regulations.

    Where I live we've also been told we can't store items in separate cupboards any more. I've had to get rid of a lot of items since that change was made. Fortunately it's not disability equipment in my case though.

    I think you'll need to ask them to confirm the reason why you're no longer allowed to use it and see whether there's any legal basis to challenge it.
