Looking for volunteers to review my research information (15 minutes)
Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well.
My name is Victoria, and I am a Public Health professional and a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) researcher at Teesside University.
I am currently developing a research study exploring the barriers and facilitators to cervical cancer screening for women who have experienced physical disability, mental illness and/or poverty or socioeconomic disadvantage across England, Scotland and Wales.
Before I submit my study for ethical approval, I have been asked to involve people with relevant lived experience to review my study documents(Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE).
I am looking for women aged 25 years or over who have lived experience of one or more of the following:
- Physical disability
- Mental illness
- Poverty or socioeconomic disadvantage
I am not recruiting participants for the research study at this stage. Instead, I am asking for feedback and to see if anyone would be willing to spend around 15-30 minutes reviewing my study materials and telling me whether they are:
- easy to understand
- clear and respectful
- appropriate for people with similar experiences
The documents include:
- Recruitment Poster
- Participant Information Sheet
- Consent Form
- Interview Questions
Your feedback will only be used to improve these documents before I submit my ethics application. No sensitive personal information is required, and you will not be taking part in the research itself.
If you'd be happy to help, please use the link below or send me a private message.

Thank you very much for considering helping improve this research. Your lived experience can make a real difference in ensuring the study is respectful, inclusive and accessible for future participants.
