Fellow fat people; what mobility aids are you using?

Hello. I have severe, chronic, debilitating pain all over my body. It makes living impossible and I am not receiving any help despite my constant begging. I cry in bed most days because I just can't do anything.

I really want to start getting out of the house more. It would do me the world of good I think. I can't walk more than 30ft or so without collapsing. I need something electric as I can't push myself due to the pain.

What are other fat people using? I am 30in wide at the hips and nothing goes above 22in. The one scooter I found that did was 7k, and more than my yearly income.

I'd appreciate any advice at all.

Hey. I hope your pain eases off. Chronic pain is a drain. Exercise is the best way to energise.. yet the exercise is painful and leaves one in agony.

I know that some chairs can be adapted to widen them at the arm rests.

A lot of chairs have decent max weight capacity.

I don’t require these extensions so don’t have a specific model…but hope it might assist you in your search. £7k is far too expensive. Perhaps a used one could save you some money. You can use Pip mobility to hire scooters.

a rollator walker with a seat may assist you in moving and resting.

I have looked at the scooters and there are more cheaper alternatives.

Search for: ‘Bariatric mobility scooter’ designed for people that require more room and extra strong scooters.
