Even if I applied for this, they'd probably still find some way to discriminate against me and say no…. I wouldn't mind but it's not my fault I can't work long hours/evenings or weekends.

The proposal applies to young people, which neither of us are!

I'm all for any initiative that'll help people.
But the last job I applied for that suited my needs there were over 500 other applicants, for a part time role. Young people don't stand a chance really as they've little experience too.
EDIT: I should add I didn't have direct experience but got the job anyway 😁 sometimes it's about knowing how to sell yourself

They have to do something, we can't let 1 million neets waste their lives on benefits. I hope they are serious about helping people for once.

Me too, with the best will in the world though I don't think it'll make any positive difference, for instance, at the age of 50 they'd be lucky to get about 15 years out of me before they pensioned me off.

It might not help you in your current situation @SheffieldMan1976, but if you think about it, a young-un growing up with similar disabilities to you might stand more of a chance getting and staying in work with this scheme than being left to face things by themselves.
It would have been lovely to see something come in that could help you too, I know how much you'd love to work. But the government have to pick their issues and youth unemployment has been a really big one recently.
Hopefully it'll mean more young people can get the support they need. I'll be interested to see if it works out!
Wow that was a lot of competition @Mr_Shoes_Tied! Well done on getting the job!
