Light touch review new diagnosis
Hi everyone . My son has received is light touch review form he has had pip for 10 years for ASD . The form is quite short only 6 pages with yes or no answers . There has been no changes in his health condition or disability he got pip for ASD .
2 years ago he was also diagnosed with paranoid siczophrenia by the phycyatrist MH .his care needs and mobility needs have not changed there still the same.
Question 16 says has there been any changes in your health condition or disability since we last awarded pip .
Dose that mean I have to put the new diagnosis in of schizophrenia they already know he has ASD . Do I have too. My son's condition and needs hasn't changed and he's gratefull for the amount of pip he gets now .
I just feel this will trigger a whole new assesment and cause anxiety for my son .Can anyone enlighten me on this do I put in the new diagnosis or can I just leave it out . Thanks

Hi @rita444. Generally PIP focuses on how conditions affect someone rather than what their specific diagnosis is, so unless his needs changed drastically they shouldn't be too concerned by a new diagnosis.
It is probably worth letting them know that he was diagnosed, but making it very clear that his needs are no different from last time he was assessed.
Hope it all goes smoothly for him ☺️

Hi @Rosie_Scope
Thanks that's what I thought too I maybe will let them know but make it clear his needs as Stayed the same and not changed . the only difference is that he was hearing voices but his medication has stayed the same . He still needs help with dressing and promting to wash take medication and supervising when cooking so nothing has changed.
It is the AR2 form it's not got many pages it just has yes or no questions on it then it prompts you go to the next question much simpler than the first one he got 10 years ago because if you tick no it doesn't give you an option to write anything it tells you to go to the next question . I think il just write it on the last page. Thanks Rosie .
