PIP runs out Dec 2026

Afternoon

Sorry to bother you I was just wondering should I be getting concerned I've heard nothing from pip yet regarding my claim ending this year. I was told earlier in the year that it was been looked at under those new rules to see if it could be automatically extended like some people already have had happen.

I have seen online that there is long waiting times when ringing up & I have checked online & it still says December 2026

I was thinking of contacting them at end of this month if I've not heard by then

Hi,

PIP awards are now getting automatically extended around 35 days before the end date, if the review doesn't get completed before then.

Personally I would wait until about 30 days before the end to contact them if you haven't heard anything and the online checker still hasn't changed.

Hi @stressed76, your PIP claim will usually continue until they get a chance to review your claim. There are definitely some long waits for reviews and things so it may just be that your claim has been caught up in those. But it's definitely worth contacting them if you're worried about what happens next. Hopefully they can let you know what's going on and put your mind at ease ☺️

I haven't heard too many people saying they couldn't get through on the PIP phone lines lately. Sometimes it can be extra busy at certain times though, so it's worth calling again at a different time if you struggle to get through.
