hello I am Pauline
I lost my husband in may , He Had COPD was was ill for a number of years but really started to go down hill November 2024. He became bed bound in January on was on Oxygen 24/7 we had carers coming in 4 times a day . he was hospitalised a few days before our 45th wedding Anniversary . They discharged him 7 days later . I had to get paramedics out on the 17th May they did say it could go either way (which is what i kept hearing all the time) they managed to settle him and got his oxygen levels up to 86% which was 2% below what it should of been . same thing happened on the 23rd may they couldn't do anything for him, they took him to Kathrine house hospice where he later passed away a few hours later. we was joint claims on Universal Credits . I was getting couples rates for the first 3 months then got turned to single claim. I was supposed to be protected untill 23rd November. on my last assessment I noticed they had me down for a carer , I mentioned this to them and made sure I had changed it. But that had triggered a work focused interview to discuss what I have done to increae my chances of getting work. I explained to them that my that i am still within my six months of the Regulation 99(3)(d)(i) of the Universal credit Regulations 2013. But they seem to ignore this. It is making me distressed and my grieving harder to cope. I have submitted a fit note which expires in January and by then I will only have 15 months left before I retire. I live just over 3 miles from the job center and the town , I do not drive and we only get 1 bus a week which is from 10:35 and leaves the town to come back at 12:45
They are giving me a telephone call , I explained to them about my transport . I am worried that I can't keep to any work commitments . And they will close my claim down.
Pauline
