Change of circumstances - anyone lost their award?
Hi, I had my phone assessment yesterday and waiting for the report, my condition has worsened as well as another diagnosis, but now I'm worried I'll get nothing at all and should have waited for my review. Has anyone here gotten worse since initial claim but lost pip in a change of circumstances

Hi @curiouskitten. I haven't had this experience myself but hopefully others will be able to share their experiences.
They will be looking at your ability to do daily tasks. Has this worsened?

Yes, I can't do as much as before, im slower and in constant pain, I've also had to reduce my hours at work to part time because it was too much and this is a sitting down job

I'm sorry to hear that @curiouskitten. How are you feeling about it? I can imagine it's quite a change for you, especially with going to part-time.

It's hard facing up to the fact that you just can't do it anymore, my family pick up most of the housework so I feel like a burden anyway. I think I'm worried because I could go from having standard to nothing as I've heard horror stories and I felt rushed by the assessor even though it was about 90 minutes long, I feel like I couldn't get everything out, also felt like she was putting words in my mouth

I've been in a similar situation and it's incredibly difficult to process. I went through a period of grieving for the things I used to be able to do. I still have those feelings sometimes but I'm more accepting now. Take your time with it. It's a massive change in your life.
I always say that people are more likely to speak about a negative experience so they'll be more prevalent. Try not to worry. If they decide to take away your award you can always appeal it and we can support you with that 😊
