The Experiment - My first TV role
Hi People
I hope you are well.
I am pleased to let you know that The Experiment, my first TV role, will be on Channel 4 at 10pm on Wednesday 21 October. I play Mo. I would love you to watch. Do catch-up on Channel 4 Online if you can't watch it live!
Tom
It's a tough but rewarding watch for disabled people, but it's very important!

This is very exciting news @tommy2k17! Congratulations!!π What was the experience like?

Thankyou.
I enjoyed filming it. We filmed it last year, and I hope you like it. I have one of the few speaking parts. Channel 4 invited me to a screening on Monday, and it is quite a tough watch.

Oh wow @tommy2k17! What's it about?

I have just looked up this forthcoming programme, and I wonder why you didn't mention the subject matter, such as Aktion T-4?

There are certain things I can and can't say, sorry.

Hi Rachel. It's an improv / docudrama about the treatment of disabled people, by means of the set up of a fictional institution.

That sounds incredibly interesting! What an amazing thing to be a part of.

Thankyou. The good thing is, all of the cast had some sort of disability! We had a psychologist on set so if people got triggered, they could go and see him.
It's a great but tough watch! Please do let me know what you think if you watch it.

I can't understand why we can't know it's based on how the Nazis treated disabled people? All the online newspaper articles mention it.

Because I am an actor in it, I signed an NDA and I can only discuss it generally.

What I know about acting, I could write it on a postage stamp. I just imagined they would have given you an approved statement, that you could tell to anyone who asked what the programme is about.

No they didn't, sorry!

I will give it a watch when I have done my dog walk. π¨βπ¦Όπ

Thanks. Let me know what you think

It was horrifying! I feel it is a very important programme showing the reality of the impact of the negative propaganda disabled people are subjected to. I only hope lots of people watch this and question their opinions

I thought the programme well made and presented, all the actors were terrific. Although these kind of experiments are nothing new, I still feel we can't really have enough of this sort of thing on television. Well done to all involved.
As i watched it, I didn't blame any of the visitors for their on-the-spot observations, as it has been proven many tines that in the company of an authority figure, in an unfamiliar setting, the majority of people feel compelled to answer as expected.
If you aren't familiar with the Stanford prison experiment, or the Milgram experiment, I would encourage you to take a look.

Thanks for watching. Hopefully I did Mo justice

On the face of it, the comments by the visitors were shocking, but we have to consider the environment they were exposed to, and the unconscious pressure to conform to expectations, especially in the company of an authority figure. As I said to @tommy2k17, have a look at the Stanford prison and Milgram experiments of you are interested.
