PIP New Claim - London - October 2026 Timeline

Hi everyone,

Just sharing my online PIP application timeline from London to see if anyone else applied around the same time and is still waiting for a decision.

My PIP timeline so far:

14 October 2026: Submitted my online application.
15 October 2026: Received a text from DWP confirming receipt of my application.
16 October 2026: Received a text saying an assessment would be arranged if required.
19 October 2026 (morning): Received a text confirming DWP had received the written report from the health assessor.
Current status: Still awaiting a decision.

Gosh, that seems mega quick, obviously you didn’t need an assessment of any kind? Sounds like they have enough evidence to go on without giving you an assessment, good luck and I hope you get the decision you are wanting.

That does sound quick @Simple14! Timelines can vary a lot, but it would be interesting to hear whether other members have found theirs went quickly recently too.

If you didn't have to speak to anyone, it's likely you have had a paper assessment. This means they felt they had enough information to make a decision without talking to you on the phone or in person.

I was informed by HAAS on 16th October that I might need to attend an appointment. However, I received a text from the DWP on Friday, 19th October, confirming that they had received my written assessment report, so I think my assessment was probably completed on paper.

@Simple14 I’m in this area too and my PIP review seemed to be really quick. They re-affirmed my support within 3 weeks of receiving my review forms
