My frustrating day out on London transport began with a perfectly planned route using my wheelchair crumbled when I met a broken lift, forcing me to take a massive detour. After rerouting, the promised staff help did not appear with a manual ramp at my destination, leaving me trapped on the train as the doors closed. When I abandoned the Underground for a bus, on the first one I found the automated ramp jammed and on the second one the wheelchair space was occupied, leaving to navigate on the pavements where blocked dropped kerbs forced me to backtrack just to safely cross the street.
