you can apply for a blue badge for yourself to use when your friend drives you, but they cannot use it when not driving you.
You will need to apply to your local council

You can apply even if you receive no benefits. They will assess you with an occupational therapist even if you don't receive any PIP etc
Have you applied? How's it going? -
@sodaone70 Any joy with your blue badge?

There are so many blue badge holders that holders are not using pay car parks and parking on the street as they are entitled to, to avoid parking charges in some towns and cities. My own county has over 22,000 blue badge holders and rising.

Hi everyone, this is my first time on this site, the thing is- I have had a blue badge for several years but when my badge renewal forms arrived I found that I could not understand them! I am in the middle of finding out what dementia type I have, and one of the things I have lost is being able to work out how to fill forms in- it seems that my brain can't connect what's on the form and what to do. Any ideas where I can get help with there forms?

Try local CAB or similar, or local authority welfare rights.
