Just been awarded PIP

Hi there just been awarded PIP and is currently on ESA support group. I was looking for some advice on what to do next. Do I contact local council and tell the about my pip as I currently live with my brother who works full time so will my council tax and housing benefit change. Is there a timeline to report change in circumstances as I don't want to get a fine. Thanks
Replies
PIP is a non means tested benefit and is usually discounted for council tax purposes. As it is a change of circumstance it is worth notifying the council for your peace of mind
Have you received your decision letter ?
Normally any relevant departments are notified electronically and will know about your award if relevant.

Great news about your PIP award.
Generally speaking it's important to tell all other benefits offices about a change in another benefit such as PIP. A new PIP award often leads to increases in other benefits but in your circumstances i suspect your other benefits will remain exactly the same. But as i don't know all of your circumstances i suggest you do make notifications to the other offices already paying you a benefit.
