Renewing Blue Badge

My daughter's blue badge is going to expire next year. How do we go about getting a new one please? Do we apply again online, or will they write to us when it's about to run out - and how far in advance do I need to start thinking about it?

Hi @Blue Frog
It says on the gov website:
Answer questions about your disability, check your eligibility and fill in an application form to apply for or renew a Blue Badge. Your application will then be sent to your council for a decision. Ask your council to find out how long before the expiry date you should renew.

My council no longer reminds people that their BB is about to run out! Renewal can take up to a month so fill in renewal form about a month before expiry. My council now does BB only online but other councils, outside London, might still do BB by post. Look on your council's website.
