Since this os my first esa claim will I get the basic esa payment whilst I am waiting for a decision for assessment or is it after? I am also recieving housing benefit and council tax reduction will these be affected because of a delayed response?
Thanks

ESA assessment rate us payable until after you have had a WCA and the DWP has made their decision known as the assessment phase
The hb ctr should remain in payment if you were claiming another benefit such as JSA, if it gets suspended, they should pay any arrears once ESA is in payment, unless there is a gap of several weeks in between before the start date of the ESA claim and the end of any previous benefit claim
