severe disability premium

smokeyjoey

I'm currently waiting on pip payments to be sorted after tribunal win, I wasn't aware of this sdp, I have my brother and sister helping with daily things, my brother stays over now and again but does not live with me, (he has his own flat) am I entitled to this extra premium. I'm a single mum who lives alone.

Hi smokeyjoey

To receive SDP you will need to have an IR element in your claim
also you need to live alone, no one claims carers allowance for you and have PIP DL award
If you meet the criteria, often you will have to claim it but this can be done over the phone

I get ir esa, enhanced dla, no one lives with Me or claims on my behalf

smokeyjoey

Daily living i mean not dla

Sam_Alumni

We have a benefits calculator you could fill in to see what you could be entitled to.

CockneyRebel

Once your award is sorted out you should also get the SDP backdated to when you became elegable
You should ring DWP, you might have to fill in an IS10 but it can usually be done over the phone
good luck

CockneyRebel

sorry lisabrazil

it is hard to speculate what points might be awarded. All you can do is explain as fully as you can the difficulties you have
