I'm no expert myself, but no, I'm pretty sure that ESA and PIP are quite different. As it is, I am sure that some of our more knowledgeable members and experts will be along to offer you advice, so bear with us in the meantime and we will get back to you asap.

Hi asouthwood and welcome
ESA is for people who are unable to work due to illness or disability
PIP is for people that need help with daily living and mobility
You can receive PIP even if you work full time

Be all you can be, make every day count. Namaste -
On Esa you can apply permitted work up to 16 hours both benefit are not test meaning and as the comment above you are allow full time on pip.
