What happens when you send in further medical evidence for an appeal? Do the DWP ask ATOS/Capita to look at this to establish if they can change the PIP award in your favour and lapse your appeal?

Hi keira
The DWP don't have any in house medical knowledge so they will outsource to AP for medical opinion

Hi Keira,
Any further evidence submitted after the appeal has been lodged should be considered and if the DWP think that the decision should be changed in your favour it can do so and lapse your appeal. It doesn't happen very often in my experience but it can do if the evidence is overwhelmingly in favour of a different decision.
