in February I went for a pip assment in Leeds , I’ve been on dla and pip since 2009 , I had a serious stroke and a massive bleed on my brain witch nearly cost me my life. I’m left with lift side weakness, I can’t cook anything or clean , I also have a personality disorder witch affects me, the dwp never took anything into consideration, they scored me 7 points , saying I don’t need aids to eat or to get a shower or use a toilet, I feel so low and let down by , is it just me or as this happens to anybody else.

Hi Paul
Did you remember to include statements from anyone who helps you.ie carers,physios,family members etc.
This can go a long way towards improving your assessment scores.

@paul1974
Try to get some f2f help from CAB or similar.
Disability Rights UK site has a good guide to all stages of PIP. There's also the Disability Rights Handbook available from their site which you have to buy but worth the money.
You have to show how your disabilities fit the relevant PIP descriptors. You have to spell out all your difficulties in detail. For example, it might take you a very long time to do things even using aids, such as an hour to take a shower, and sometimes you might not be able to complete tasks even using aids because of pain or fatigue. You might need to rest after each task whether or not you were able to complete it.2 -
Thankyou I understand now1

@paul1974
I would also write an email to your MP. They can help put some pressure on the DWP. Type your postcode into this site and it will tell you who your MP is:
https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/
It will also give you their email address. I would advise to write to them via email > letter, because it is much faster and more convenient.
Scope has a "Model Letter" template you can download from this page: https://www.scope.org.uk/Get-Involved/Campaigns/Contact-your-MP
Wish you the best in your Mandatory Reconsideration process. I am also going through one my myself. My enhanced rate of Daily Living was reduced to the standard rate. My standard rate of Mobility was reduced to nothing.0 -
