I'm clearly new at this and bit wet behind the ears!
We were unable to travel to go on foreign holiday year before last, as I couldn't get through an airport or board a plane.
Then my wife got us a cruise last year for my 60th, booking FANTASTIC assistance through Dublin and Venice airports, the airports, airline and cruiseline really did us proud.

In December past I booked us a week in Spain for next month, today the agency "Love Holidays" ring to confirm availability of disabled room.
However!
However!
It is a bigger room so I now have to pay a surcharge of almost £100 more!!! Or have standard room without required bathroom facilities!
Is this normal to have to pay surcharge?
As I say i'm new to this so perhaps naive?

I have heard this a few times, that hotels don't have standard sized accessible rooms, but this means they can say they are charging for the bigger room not because you are a disabled person. It's a tricky one.
We have lots of accessible holiday hints and tips here that you might like to read.
How was the cruise? It sounds wonderful!!Scope

Cruise was brilliant, looked after and taken great care of from Dublin back to Dublin.
Next months holiday was booked and paid for last December and disabled facilities advertised, having researched to be assured.
It was only last week the agent rang to say there would now be almost £100 surcharge for disabled facility if I wanted to be sure of it.
Aint happy, but need facility, cant get.into a bath or even lean over sink for more than few seconds to wash hair.
Have week booked in hotel in Kenmare (Ireland) in summer no extra for facilities.
Will check out guide.
Thanks

Actually some good info on Barcelona on there, we are staying 20mins by train from Barcelona and opposite station.
We love Barcelona and plan was to visit, but were considering not going in now given my declining walking ability.
Got some ideas to research now
