Just received a text from dwp saying that they've received written report of my assessment and should hear back within in 4 weeks once a decision has been made even though the mandatory reconsideration text on 14th may said should hear within 6 weeks so confused is that because I sent in new evidence it'l take an extra 4 weeks

The time scale DWP gives claimants is only guide, Indecation of how long they expect to take before sending your award notification.

Unfortunately there isn't any specific length of time to hear back from an MR. The DWP are just trying to give you an indication, but in practice it can take anything from 2 weeks to 2 months! Hopefully it will be in a few weeks as they've suggested. If you have sent in further evidence since you first requested the MR, it could make it quicker or it could make it longer... There's no way of saying - sometimes evidence helps to get a quicker MR because it makes your entitlement clearer, but of course, it depends how quickly the DWP look at it.

It can be worth following these things up, so when you get to four weeks from the MR it might be worth a phone call.
