advice on how far they are going to backdate my pip and esa

I have been on an appeal for 12 months and they have given it me from the 3 / 5 / 17 to the 6 / 6 / 20 I've been told that I will get the full 12 months but I have also been told that they only give you up to 6 months anyone know please let me know x
