Awarded standard mobility component on PIP, Could I claim Attendance Allowance instead, as it seems a higher amount. I was 65 in March 2018, and pip was awarded in April 2018.
Probably a stupid question but I have found several informative post/answers here, so thank you all, especially Scope.

Why not have both, no harm in looking into the possibility of claiming both as I don't think they are connected or related.1

Thanks wilko, will certainly do that, all info seems very hard to access on DWP sites. Initial PIP claim forms were a nightmare but maybe I'll get used to it as time goes on.0

They are both a disability benefit. You need to take a look at the criteria for AA because it's totally different to PIP.There's also no mobility part to AA.

They may well be both disability benefits but as the claimant is not entitled to the Care element of PIP AND is of an age that they CAN claim AA, logic dictates that they could claim AA as it is classed as a 'Care' element only.poppy123456 said:You can't claim both PIP and AA at the same time. They would then have two awards - PIP for mobility which you can't have for AA and AA for Care.
I may well be wrong but this is something that I would suggest that they seek expert advice on, that is if they can find someone to offer it.

If you are only getting PIP mobility, no DL, then you might be eligible to claim AA. Look at Age UK site and/or call their helpline.0
